One Light, Lots of Sales

with Scott Detweiler, M.Photog.Cr

Saturday, March 23th  at 9:00 - 1:00pm PDT

In this demonstration and hands on workshop (bring your camera and lens), we show how a single studio strobe can be used to create a large variety of different looks, fast. The goal is to work quickly so each client reaches their maximum potential of sellable images as quickly as possible by changing some of our variables as we shoot. As we work with our model, you will be able to watch the resulting images on the projected screen to build and expand your client workflow.

  • Learn how to manipulate one light and a few modifiers for numerous looks
  • Explore lighting positions and adjusting the mood for unique looks that stand out from the natural light crowd
  • Live shooting - bring your cameras and work with our models for live shooting and portfolio building. All while learning how to use one light.
  • Bring a lens with a focal range between 50mm and 100mm (50mm, 85mm, 24-70mm, 70-200mm)

I have been an artist and painter since I was quite young when I worked with pen & ink, marker, and acrylics.  However, I have only been a serious photographer for a little over a decade.

In our studio challenge each other to set up complete scenes and take a single photo without test shots. This drill has dramatically improved our abilities to create successful scenes from our imagination, even on location or group shoots where planning isn't much of an option. We are always learning and trying new ideas.
